This is a basic roll and is a good beginner roll. The stages include setting up your paddle parallel to your boat then moving your paddle perpendicular to your boat on the surface of the water with your back hand over your boat and finally pulling down onto the surface of the water while simultaneously hip snapping upward and keeping your head down to your shoulder.
This is similar to the C-to-C roll in that the set-up is the same, parallel to your boat, but instead of moving the paddle to a perpendicular position, you are "sweeping" your paddle on the surface of the water while simultaneously hip snapping and keeping your head down to your shoulder.
This is a roll that is fun to practice in the pool. There aren't too many situations where you will actually use this on the river unless you lose your paddle. Once upsidedown, put both hands together crossing one hand over the other with palms on the water and in a sweeping motion, sweep your hands on the surface of the water from front to back while simultaneously hip snapping and keeping your head down on your shoulder.
This is a more advanced roll to try once you have your basic C-to-C or sweep roll down. You actually lie back on your boat crossing your right hand over your chest so that your paddle is parallel to your body. Once you are upsidedown, unwind yourself by pushing your right hand forward and hip snapping at the same time. The motion will start to bring your boat upright. Don't forget to keep your head down on your shoulder.
